Run # 512 - The 'Oasis' Run

Where: Piroza Mansion

Hares: Fartasharty, Wreckless, Baby Dick

Yet, another city run!  No not another one!  But... once we reached the venue, it was a surprise awaiting us! No one could have imagined that right next to Grant road station, on the top of a building, would be such an awesome terrace garden, Definitely an oasis in middle of the concrete desert  Suddenly, no one seemed to be missing the outdoors.

Yet another run marked by lazy Hashers on scooters! They took us through Skywalks,  the always wonderful Gamdevi, up to Walkeshwar with a view of the sea, all around Napean Sea road, and back to Grant Road! Quiet a long run, and hot too, so was a welcome to come back to the comfort of the terrace with fans!

For a change, we had some sexy brew masters wearing bikinis serving us Beer . A bit hairy, but sexy!

Quiet a whole lot of hashers, and everyone on their best behavior so as not to damage the lovely antique furniture! Our gracious hosts were super sporty, and did some side line participation, and also posed for pictures holding the 'Hares' :-p

We had couple of international visitors., or lets say Hashers, who missed us so much, that they made sure they made it to the run!

Presume, some people just are wierd and love drinking beer, if not a glass, anything would do!

All in all, a lovely Sunday, in the city, yet it transported us to tranquility!

Enjoy the visuals...

ON ON...

Run #511 : The Jungle run!

When : 25th October 2015
Where : Arundhati Bungalow, Borivali ( The National Park run )
Hares : Shivaji, Just Abhay

another run in the city...yet in a jungle! And the Parulekars, who live right next to the National park, are always generous, rather crazy, to allow a bunch of mad loud hashers into the space, they live in!

Sanjay Gandhi National Park ( SGNP ), or commonly called the Borivali National Park, is one of the few national parks in the world, thats inside a city! So though its a run in the city, its completely devoid of traffic and noise, surrounded by greenery and fresh air!

Since its a national park, and keeping in mind the eco nature, the run was not marked by tape or chalk. Instead it was live haring. Pretty simple run / walk / crawl... the runners went all the way to Kanheri caves.

End of October, and inspite of the green zone, the temperatures were soaring, and had everyone drained, and ready for the beer once they were back at Parulekars bungalow!

Now this run venue, is the closest you can get to being in the wild forest, without leaving the city limits. One of the very few National parks thats inside the city location, any where in the world! Our hosts, the Parulekars are super generous, guess thats something to do with the fact that we hashers are so ‘soft spoken’ and they simply love us for scaring the leopards away!

Its one of the most ‘green’ runs in the city, and most hashers are petrified that the over dose of O2 might knock them out on this run. Plain , simply, yet fantastic run, that stretched from the entrance of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, upto the Kanheri caves and back.

Thanks to the confusion on social media by ‘Cum again’ Wacko had to be iced, as he had to undergo severe mental therapy, and he is still unsure if the run at Arunadhati is happening, had happened and was to be happening! Poor boy, last we saw him, he had lost all his hair due to the shock treatment!

Scott made made multiple women, besides his wife Jen, cum that day!

Well..nothing like a nice drink from the sole for the soul! Quiet a few with new soles!

Horny yeti, was made the new slave in the mismanagement, and entrusted to take care of the Hash Trash ( of which he does a completely Trashy Job)

Run #513 The Year Ending ‘Harakiri’ Run

Where : Bolivian Alps, Wadala on 20th Dec 2015.

Hares : Break A Leg, Horny Yeti

Now, when Horny Yeti and Break a Leg, volunteered to hare the run, we should have expected nothing less...but not atleast so much MORE! Who the fuck sets a 14 kms run on a HOT sunday morning!

The run started from Bolivian Alps ( No one told me that the Alps had been exported to South America!), which happens to be Break A Leg's abode. Surprise surprise...we got our first ride in the Bombay monorail.

even it meant one stop, and then to get out of the comfort of the ac cabins, onto the sweltering streets of Wadala, and to start running / walking / crawling towards the Sewree Fort, with hopes of catching a glimpse of the Pink Flamingos that migrate all the way from Russia! Well screw the Flamingos, we were completely 'Flamishedgo' by the time we reached there! Thank God, some sense prevailed , and the hashers had kept some cold nimbu pani for us at the turn around point!

Some took a cab back, some got a ride in Break A Legs car to return! So Iron People did complete the walk back! All in all, a hot run, but a day well spent, and thankfully the circle was indoors, in an AC room for a change!

The Hares were sentenced to be iced till their balls froze! A great way to end the year, only if we survive the heat stroke!

Happy 2016...On On

see what we were talking about the run being LONG!

Run #514 - The Zero Emission Run

Aman Lodge, Matheran on 31st Jan 2016

Hares : Baby Dick, Wreckless, Leaky Faucet, Gimme More

This is one run, away from noise and pollution, away from the 'horny'  cars and the hustle and bustle. Its a different thing that as soon as the Hashers get there, the peace is destroyed! :-P

Its always a big pain, getting the ice to the venue, since vehicles are prohibited beyond a certain point. But we have bonded labor who do the needful! We had new Tshirts, sponsored by gautam, specific to the Matheran run, dedicated to Hanumans descendants!

Hats off to the Hares, who have consistently, each year, found a new trail in this small town of Matheran! Its always a green trail, through the year, through grasslands, forests, sometimes passing old heritage homes enroute, and ofcourse,,,lots of Monkeys,,who are ready to grab anything that you would be eating! REminds me of some of the Hashers!

Always a pleasure being in Matheran. A fresh burst of energy and oxygen for the lungs and soul!

At the circle, all those who had run the Standard Chartered Marathon were felicitated on the ice! Special mention to Bonzai for being the celebrity runner!

Do enjoy the visuals..the green is good for the eyes!

Run #515 The Concrete in Jungle Run!

at Aangan...Khatau bungalow, Lonavala. on 28th Feb 2016

Hares : Fartysharty, Wreckless

Well at least the day started well... with a fantastic breakfast at the newly opened German Bakery in Lonavala.

Now this was one of the most disappointing runs! Not only the trail, but the bloody Hares, the lazy asses, got us all the way to Lonavala,,,for what...but a bloody boring run on the road and Concrete! Because, they didnt want to get into the forests, or off road!

Proof right here...

The trail took us up the ROAD to the hills, down the ROAD by Ambanis house, almost the ROAD to Meghalaya, ROAD crossing the railways tracks, along the ROAD of the highway, and straight down the ROAD to hell,,and back! Bloody long. boring, and hot! Glad the Hares were iced for this!

And a few rich people bought new shoes for the run. Ha...now, everyone know the ritual when someone does that!

And what were those fashionistas thinking, dressed up for a picnic!

All in all, a decent run, nothing to write home about, yet I am whipped to write only good things!

And Whackopedia, should take better care of his head...phones!

Till the next one...On On... till then enjoy the visual boring stuff!

Run #516 - The 'Holi' Run

Thakoor Farms, Karjat @ 20th March 2016

Hares :Shivaji, Bonsai

Yet another run in sweltering March heat, in parched Karjat. Now we know what they mean when they say 'Beware the ides of March'.

Pre run, there was a pre holi celebrations, with colors being smeared on each others faces! we looked more like a bunch of parakeets than a bunch of drinkers with a running problem!

Now the trail..if Shivaji is one of the Hares, be assured it is going to be a back breaker. Where was this guy working before? the concentration camp??? Anyways, the trail took us through crocodile infested streams, muck with leeches, up the mountains, down the valleys, through farms and open fields and back, to the comfort of the shed, where the Golden Nectar awaited us!

We had to bid adeu to Mark , but we are sure he shall be back soon!

Till the next run... On On!

till then enjoy the run at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153761696204442&type=1&l=ae3cc8f6b5

p.s. The crocodiles and leeches were a creation of imagination due to the heat stroke!

Run # 517 - The 2/3rd Lake Run!

Tribal Route,Kamshet on 24th April 2016

Shamcock, Hairy Farmer, Horny Yeti

Seems the further the run, the more thirsty people we have running in!

A record number of hashers for a summer run. And though the run was pulled ahead by an hour, than the regular time of 10AM, which meant the last asses would have had less to sleep from the Saturday night hangover! Maybe it was the cooling effect of the lake waters that got them there!

Pleasant trail up, up and more up the hill, through the forests...greener and thornier than the last run here! The welcome surprise, was the watermelon pit stop, around half way up the trail. This made the treacherous climb down a bit easier and the later part of the walk around the lake, was super pleasant, with the sound of water, and the slight cool gentle breeze!

Now, why the run is called the 2/3 run...the lazy Hares, probably were so drunk from the weekend there, or enjoyed themselves at the lake side..that the trail around the lake, they simply forgot to mark! So it was each one on his own. They simply said...keep walking along the lake till you reach the house! Ha Ha!

Some were iced coz they were missing from action for a long time. Some iced, coz they do NOT respect the Hash tradition of wearing the ‘uniform’! In short..most were iced ..as usual..and it was a welcome ritual in the heat!

The run in images...

All in all, hope the next run#518 is a wet one!

On On!

Run 602 | Arundhati Bungalow

Some hashers are true to their name. We were graced by one true blue hasher from Nigeria for this one. He takes his hash name very serious...
