Run # 549 Wackopedia's Hideout

Wackopedia Hideout, Neral

They say great minds drink alike; Plato, Shakespeare, and even Abraham Lincoln have declared their love for a pint!

While that may have nothing to do with the Bombay Hash House Harriers, I just could not figure out a better way to start this blog.

The only thing that 3 hashers were particularly glad to discover was the insanely convenient One Day First Class Tourist Pass for train travelers like the hashers. With that thought in mind, Horny Yeti bought 3 passes and off we went to Neral for a possibily rainy affair with run # 549.

While we all wished that it would have rained a lil, the beautifully marked trail by Tulsiram (I stand corrected if I am wrong) more than made up for it. Wacko and Anjali (who's name would change by the end of this blog, made good use of their money (maybe) and resources (definitely) to ensure a beautiful countyside run.
Tulsiram is the one on the extreme right... the rightful hare.
However, we would like to thank the duo to help him in carrying chalk and tap throughout the run and make it easier for him to mark the trail.

All jokes apart, this was one of the better trails that we've run from. The run took us around an entire lake with views of the hills covered by a dark blanket of clouds, gigantic concrete water-fountain structures abandoned completely, an infinity pool, more green that the Hulk's skin tone, a small stream crossing and a wall climb. A beautifully marked and well laid trail is what made Run # 549 a successful one.

On In at the end of the run... GKG stands for Gaon ki Gori....

Back at the hideout, things were pretty loud and it felt we were much more than the 18 enthusiasts who made it for the beautiful Sunday shenanigan. There was music in the background and small interval showers. Kingfisher poured down throats and one would ocassionally here the entire Parsi clan, alongwith Wacko, indulging in a session of "Teri mai ni aankh" and some other abuses which come in the PG category.

Zafar's absence was not missed as Nazia decided to fill his bitchiness by constantly asking when the circle would start.

The circle:

The hare, Tulsiram was accompanied by Wacko and Anjali on the ice. Tulsi got a solid 8/10 for the trail and the other two were applauded for their capabilities of holding the chalk and tape carefully. We sang to them as they gulped down whatever was there in the piss pots.

SCB's : Anand, Horny Yeti and On a Loop were iced next for short- cutting. Things people do for free beer... and Anand doesn't even drink beer. :(

Fiji and back: Nazia was then given the honor of sitting on the ice for being the only one that day who attended the Fiji hash in Fiji (Lol).

A couple of hash names were given out that day too. Falguni got christened "Half a Peacock" thanks to her weird hairstyle and the color. She got knighted and she loved it. Dr. Anjali also got a name apt to her daily speech. Being a dentist, the 'n' number of times that she used the term, "Open Wide", we thought that in itself makes an apt name for her. She obliged.

Wacko was again put on the ice was allowing us to use his property for the run and we decided to not spray Pepper in house again. To join him was Horny Yeti (on behalf of KF) who has no resemblance with any KF big shots whatsoever. But who cares after a few beers?

Since we had time, we didn't even spare our GM and Brewmaster. They got their free beer for coming late and still doing the run. We spoke for a couple of seconds before they could chug, couple of seconds, enough for Shining to dose off on the ice.

On that dreamy note, we called the circle off, finished the anthem and moved on to more beers and Biryani.

Resolution Run! (#540 at Madh Island)

This year I will start exercising.
This year I will met new people.
This year I will get out of my comfort zone!
This year I will stop being lazy!
This year I shall grow a beard.
This year I shall develop a beer belly!
This year I shall go for the Hash Runs once a month!
This year I shall mark a run, that'might' entitle me to earn my Hash Name!

Phew! Thats a lot of strong willed asses having some bull shit resolutions! How else do you explain an army of 60 people, of all ages and size, on a Sunday Morning, running, walking, crawling...all to earn their Beer! And yes, quiet a few of them were sporting first timers, who didnt know what to expect, but at the end of the day, vowed to make it more often!

BH3 Run #540 was pulled forward by a couple of Sundays, considering the Mumbai Marathon on the 3rd Sunday, and the Nash hash in Coorg over the long Republic Day weekend .

Rao Bungalow, is always a welcome site for the BH3 runs, for not only its close proximity, but also the fresh Sea air. Not much alterations can the Hares do with marking the run, but the Hares this year, Just Kavita, Just Tushar and Fubar, managed a great run, keeping the Hounds as much as they could off the tar roads. (Though they did claim to mark the run the day before, not sure why Kavita and Dr Porn had to remark the run on Sunday morning) The trail went through the quaint fishing village, up and along the cliff, giving an awesome view of the Arabian Sea and also the Bombay coastline, and also the Madh Fort.

Back at the Rao bungalow, at the Down Down, the Hares were the first to be iced, for the smelly usless run! Next were the 'Two timers' and those who came back to the run, still hoping to get free beer! There are no free meals! Next ofcourse were those sweet souls with new soles! Drink it down down down down! Thereafter, to be 'honored' were those who were to run the Mumbai Marathon the Sunday after that. BH3 had quiet a few runners running the full and the half marathons. Dr Porn, Bonsai, Shivaji, Kavita ,Phiwokuhle were some of them who finished their respective runs within cut off time! (and yes, BH3 also had set up three aid stations to assist all the runners, and help them with bananas, salt, water, face sprays to cool them off, medicated sprays and ice for cramps, pains etc...and ofcourse Horny Yeti and his band of Angels, Vidhi,Sanaya, fartysharty and Ninja...distributing Free Hugs!)

Time for the Anthem, and biryani, and take the ferry back to main land, and end of yet another great run and wonderful Sunday.

On On to the Next Run #541... till then Cheers!

BH3 Run #539 : KARJAT : Last Run of 2017

As the usual ritual goes, December run is usually mid month, taking into consideration the Festive season at the end of the month.

This was in Karjat, the Thakur farms. Everyone was hoping the weather Gods would be favorable, coz for some reason, everytime we had a run from this location it was always HOT! But the weather seemed good when we reached. A decent number of Hashers, considering that two Hashers Wandering Nuts & Runaway Pussy were letting the shit hit the fan, by getting married that day! Congratulations, and Good luck to their neighbors!

The run was marked by Hare Raiser Shivaji and our visiting Hasher Peeping Porn. Lazy asses, decide to mark the run on that same morning. For the fact that when the others reached there, and Shivaji's face was grim and his chin was touching the floor...everyone was happy that it was going to be a short run!!!

Well as expected, the run was around the dam and lake, but ofcourse with a little twist, but the Hares managed to keep it off the road for most distance. The confetti used to mark the trail was a pleasant welcome sight on the already drying grass and terrain. And then,, the unexpected on the usual trail. Out of no where, come a herd of charging bulls. Who were probably as confused as the running helter skelter Hashers, who didnt know what to do, where to go, whom to push forward to save themselves, or whether to strip their red Tshirts off! It was a hilarious, as well as a scary moment! Buts all well, that runs well! back to the trail, and eating water melons , while watching a local village cricket match, was a good break.

As expected, a super short run of approximate 5 kms, and pleasant weather, had everyone in good spirits. And ofcourse the goodies of sandwiches and puffs got by Osama , who always loves to play Santa Claus, were quickly devoured up by the bhukkad Hashers!

On the ice, at the circle, were the usual short cutters, second timers (oh yes, BH3 has stopped wasting ice on Virgin Hashers), but the height of the run was a threesome on the trail! and we thought, only the bulls were excited!

The next run, also would be a mid month run, considering the Mumbai Marathon on the 21st of January, and the  Nash Hash on the long weekend of 26th January.

On On till Run #540 at Madh Island!

Red House Run (#538)

Run#538, at Red House, Karjat on Sunday 26th November

Dont know how our Hashers manage to con new 'bakras' to offer their properties for the runs, month after months. Wackopedia conned Kartik to offer his place , The Red House, in Karjat for the run #538.

Great location, right at the foot hills of Bhivgadh, one of Shivajis many view point forts in the Sahyadris. The red of the house, wasnt the only thing warm about the place. The welcome by Kartik, his mother, Kevin  and ofcourse Gopi, their four legged family member was as warm. The Hares, Fag End & Break A Leg (who somehow, lives upto his Hash name) went into the outdoors and mountains to mark the run for the next day. Lazy Horny Yeti, decided to 'pass' the Haring, citing fatigue!

Morning saw the Hashers tickling in. Some by car, others by train, and one Horny Yeti by cycle!. The hares gave the general directions for the run,  and what the confetti marking looked like, where the short runners would turn back from, and what is the best way for the others to get LOST and not come back! Was a pretty steep upward climb to the top, but the view from up was breathtaking. Traces of the old fort, water cisterns, added a little character to the hill. Was a little warm, but fortunately a gentle breeze kept the spirits alive. Back down at The Red House, and a lot of Golden Nectar being devoured, was time for the customary circle!

After the hares, Fag End and Break A Leg were iced for the shitty trail they laid, Clari Fucker , Smelly Armpit and Chut-eney Chediecho were taken to task for the SCBs they were, pretending to go up the full run, but turned back half way, coz of one them had a torn ass,and the other two simply sissies! Next on the ice was Horny Gorilla, for his long absence and the sudden guest appearance. We had Boxing Whore from H4 as the visiting hashers causing global warming on the slab!  Last but not the least were the hosts, Kartik. and KF representative 'look alike' Fubar being thanked for their contribution o a great run and weekend.

Ended with the customary *Hash Anthem and the biryani to wash down the beer..or wait..was it the other way around!

On On..till the next run on the 17th of December, in Karjat!

The 'Wheel Barrow' Run! ( Karjat )

 Sunday 28, August'16

Hares: Porcupine in petticoat, Horny Yeti,

Now this is one of the most awaitied runs, coz its the midst of the monsoons, and also the lush green surroundings of Karjat.  But also, since our host has been spoiling us since last year with some awesome barbeque with our beer!

As usual, a huge crowd was expected for this run, and guess there were close to around 40 people. The run started with a nice walk through the fields, and then some quaint village by lanes, that were quiet yet green. Yes, the Hares had warned us about this being a runners trail, and seems the runners had quiet a lot of road to cover! And then off the road, up the hills, into fields, through some forests, over some streams ( and the bloody Hares said they did promise 'River crossing'...ass..is this what they call a river...seems some people had pissed to make this stream!)

But yes... why was this a 'Wheel Barrow' run.... Not sure wtf were the hares doing on the train, or how they marked it... most marking were at 1 feet height...yup close to Bonzais waist! It didnt rain, but the weather was simply awesome. Cool, over cast...All in all a pleasant run..even though there was quiet a bit on the road!

Back at the hideout, the usual beer, and the Hashers stuffing their faces with chicken, potatoes and corn barbeque.

We also had a huge bunch of hashers from Pune who joined the Bombay hashers, and they agreed that we have more fun !  Infact the Karjat run is so popular, and just so that things do not get out of hand, we have to sometimes call in the bouncers! :-p

But we made sure the Pune hashers were comfortable...

Well, the scummiest of the lot gets to cool their assses off on the ice. Some decided to get 'new souls', so it was obvious that they had to be blessed!

Some ca=me around, bravely a second time... so we showed them that the Bombay Hashers were 'warm, hospitable and accomodating'

Lip Smacking had a cake smacked in her face, as she turned a sweet 18 the next day!

All in all , a Sunday well spent... till the next run on the 25th Of September, in Matheran...
